County Wicklow, Ireland

I was able to visit the County Wicklow this past Saturday and immediately realized that the majestic beauty of Ireland has absolutely no bounds. There I found the ancient remains of the Monastery of Glendalough. The granite buildings that remain date back from the 10 and 12 Centuries. Ardmore Studios is also located in County Wicklow and many famous movies were filmed here in these wondrous mountains and splendid green valleys. Here is a list of Ardmore Productions filmed in and around County Wicklow.

  1. I passed through the Wicklow mountains a few weeks ago. I was in a hurry and couldn't stop, but now I wish I had. Great photos of a lovely country.

  2. Why is it that the second part of this posting looks like a library reference card? I clicked on the pics to enlarge them. The countryside in the background is beautiful. The tombstones in that cemetery look like they would make an incredible Halloween display

  3. Richard, We were in the same neighborhood, I would have met you for lunch. Maybe next time.

Scribe This place was great brother. I was totally lucky b/c I was there when there was some sun. Most of the time it foggy and you can not see the background. Many I want to spend the night there.

  4. There is a tower like the one in Wicklow at Messines on the Ypres Salient in Belgium. I went there a few years back on one of the WW1 battlefield tours I lead for my bike club.
