I Have a Sickness

So I have been searching for a new bike to buy for the last 4 months and I am horrifically fond of the pursuit. So it's either a Harley Street Bob or a Triumph Tiger 1050. You really can not get different bikes but I love both of them. Should I go with the Hard Core Cruiser or the Adventure Tourer? I am at a loss but either way I can not make a wrong choice.

Spring is here so no matter what bike you have ride it.

  1. Disregard my last e-mail; you must have slipped this post in while I wasn’t looking.

In my opinion I think you’re better off with the Street Bob. The Tiger doesn’t look like it would be comfortable on a long ride, and let’s face it…you like long rides.

  2. Maybe split the difference. Look at the Triumph T-Bird or America. I am sure either could be made in to fine touring bikes. I do like the Street Bob too though.

  3. Think I'd have to go for the Harley in this case. I like the Triumph Tiger's, but Triumph dealers are few and far between and you might not be able to find one nearby when on the road and in need of an emergency OEM part or repair. Harley on the other hand has dealers damn near everywhere and parts of so common finding what you need in a pinch wouldn't be hard.

  4. Jimmy B has a good point. I was on a solo trip to Evansville, IN, then rode through a couple hundred miles of KY and on to visit a friend in MO. Just three hours from home my bike started blowing oil all over my leg. I was only 30 miles from a dealer on the way home, or I could go back 20 miles. I cleaned up the bike to see how bad it was, (always looks worse after the wind has blown it around) checked the oil (not even 1/2 Qt low) and decided to ride to the next dealer towards home stopping to check the oil every ten miles. Turned out to be a 39 cent o-ring and a $30 install.
