A New Transition

It was cold here in Western New York but the feel of my Harley Dyna Super Glide took me far away from the chilly wind and all I focused on was the feel of the cycle as it traversed the back country roads. I will never forget the feel of my first cycle (HONDA SHADOW 750) which I have ridden for six years without issue nor complaint but there is a difference between the Harley and Honda which is like night and day. The Honda being the little engine that could; the Harley being more like Godzilla destroying Tokyo. There is no disrespect meant towards the Honda Shadow. We’re talking two different bikes with two different classes of engines and it would not be prudent to compare the two. The main issue for me now is that for the first time in my life, I have the ability to go really fast. What can I say, I like the feeling!

So on this day, I would like to sincerely say Thank You to my Honda for giving me six years of adventure. Your spirit and character made me the rider and I am today and the experience has been a soul enhancing journey. Ride now and Ride hard.

  1. Have fun with your new ride - I am sure that it will give you as much pleasure as the Honda.

  2. Congratulations on the new bike. You made a good choice. Now it's just a matter of making it your own. Just when I think I'm done buying parts for my bike, I decide there is something else that I just gotta have on it. I went to a swap meet over the weekend and found a nice new shinny Chrome break pedal. There is only one piece of aluminum left on my bike...that will probably be gone next summer...maybe this summer....and a custom seat for those long trips. See...it never ends!

  3. Congrat's on the new scoot!

Only problem is that now you're destined to be broke for eternity as you seek out every imaginable bit of chrome you can find for it. lol

  4. I’m sure I’m going to sound like your wife, but “ride safe” with your new love. I know the exhilaration of “Going fast”; I also know that it’s nice to be an “old biker.” Good luck with your new toy.

  5. What's the story? When you going to start changing that bad boy up? You know what they say...the rarest Harley is a stock Harley. Resist the urge to chrome! Go dark baby! Black and brushed is infinitely badass.

  6. Thanks for all the comments! I have a plan for some serious upgrades for this bike but it will take a bit of time. No worries, I plan on having the cycle for a long time to give it my personal touch.

  7. I ride all winter. However, it seems you are tougher than I. I don't see a windshield on your bike and you're riding in New York cold!

Here's adding my congrats on the new bike to the others.
